Blah!
The unexpected trip to the "wild".
Yesterday,my lecturer called my final year project partner and I to join a group of master students for their trip to a secondary jungle nearby USM to do a seismic survery. The survey is done in order to obtain the mapping of the slope to analyze the suitability of the area for a proposed project.
I thought that it was going to be a short trip because my lecturer assured us that the survery was going to take a very short time.Instead, we were required to spend the whole day at the site!
Well, you see, we did the survey on a very, very steep hillslope and we had to carry kilogrames of equipments(2 very long cables,a 12V portable battery, the bulky seismograph!, etc).
During the 1st one hour at the site, I immediately felt an insurmountable amount of regret for choosing this topic for my final year project. But, I tried my best to keep the negative thinking off, and effortlessly projected the positive aspects of this "excursion" like health benefits(physical movement = lose weight), clean air(detox my lung) etc.Huhu
The highlight of the day was I got stung not by one, not two but a group of bees on both sides of my temple!Honestly, I thought the bees stung my eyes and the affected areas will get swollen and ugly.Luckily, my partner assured me that the pain will be gone completely after a few days.I got to know that there are actually several types of bee and I was stung by the non - poisonous type(Luckily!).The pain was unbearable for the first 10 minutes but it subsides after that. As now, the pain occasionally come but I have itchy sensation on the affected areas.
I know that I shouldn’t be saying this but I dislike to be in the tropical jungle where tall bushes and dense vegetation reigns. You will not know what is lurking underneath. The only green place where I would hang out are parks and any well - kept green areas.
Peace!
